The Problem
You Already Know Something Is Wrong. Let Me Guess Which One.
01
You are ranking #1 for keywords that bring zero customers.
Ranking at the top of Google means nothing if the people searching that term are not buyers. A Singapore accountancy firm ranking #1 for "what is a balance sheet" gets students, not clients. Search intent is the most overlooked factor in keyword selection — and the most expensive mistake to make.
02
You are writing content without knowing which keywords your buyers actually use.
Most businesses write about what they know, not what their customers search for. The result is a blog full of content that reflects your internal language rather than the exact phrases your target market types into Google. Keyword research eliminates this gap — it grounds your content strategy in real search behaviour.
03
Your competitors are ranking for high-value terms you did not know existed.
Keyword gap analysis consistently surfaces valuable opportunities that businesses never considered targeting. Your competitors have pages ranking for commercial, transactional keywords in your exact niche — terms with clear buyer intent — while your site has nothing. A systematic gap analysis reveals what you are missing and exactly what to build.
A Letter From Our Founder
From the desk of Jason, founder of Best Web Design Singapore.
Re: why most web design agencies in Singapore deliver beautiful failures, and what we do instead.
If you are reading this, you already sense something is wrong. Maybe you paid a Singapore agency $5,000 and got a website that looks great but never rings the phone. Maybe a competitor who launched after you is already sitting above you on Google for every keyword that matters. Maybe you tried fixing it yourself and watched the months go by without movement.
I started Best Web Design Singapore in 2011 because I watched too many business owners waste money on websites that were designed to impress at the pitch meeting, and then collect dust online. A beautiful website with zero traffic is not an asset. It is a liability with a hosting bill.
We build websites differently. Every site we deliver is engineered from the ground up to rank on Google, load fast enough to pass Core Web Vitals, and convert the visitors it earns into customers you can invoice. Not one or the other. Both.
Since 2011 we have served 100+ Singapore businesses, achieved #1 rankings in competitive categories, and built websites that work around the clock while business owners sleep. I still personally review every strategy before it ships. If you want a partner who treats your budget like it came out of their own bank account, book a free Strategic Growth Audit below. You will walk away with a written roadmap whether you hire us or not.

Why Choose Us
What sets Best Web Design Singapore apart from every other agency.
Singapore-Specific Search Data
Global keyword tools default to worldwide or US data. We filter every analysis to Singapore search volumes, giving you accurate demand data for the market you are actually targeting. A keyword with 5,000 monthly global searches may have just 50 in Singapore — or vice versa.
Intent-Based Keyword Classification
We classify every keyword by search intent: informational (learning), navigational (brand lookup), commercial (comparing options), and transactional (ready to buy). This ensures your landing pages target buyers, your blog targets researchers, and no content is built for the wrong audience.
Competitor Keyword Gap Analysis
We audit the keyword portfolios of your top 5 competitors and identify every valuable keyword they rank for that you don't. The gap report is prioritised by traffic opportunity, keyword difficulty, and commercial intent — giving you a clear list of what to build next.
Long-Tail Opportunity Mining
Long-tail keywords (3–5 word phrases) account for the majority of Singapore search queries and convert at a significantly higher rate than broad head terms. We surface hundreds of long-tail opportunities with low competition and strong buyer intent that most of your competitors have overlooked.
Keyword Cluster Mapping
We group related keywords into semantic clusters and map each cluster to a specific page on your site. This prevents keyword cannibalisation, clarifies your site architecture, and gives every page a clear purpose — maximising the efficiency of your content investment.
Featured Snippet Keyword Targeting
Featured snippets (the answer boxes at the top of Google results) capture a disproportionate share of clicks — even above the #1 organic result. We identify which of your target keywords have snippet opportunities and structure your content to win them.

Our Process
How we work, transparent, collaborative, and focused on results.
Business Discovery
We start with a structured intake session to understand your business model, target customers, competitive landscape, and commercial goals. We identify your core service and product categories, the geographic areas you serve, and the customer problems you solve — building the seed keyword foundation for the research.
Keyword Universe Expansion
Using Ahrefs, SEMrush, and Google Search Console data filtered to Singapore, we expand your seed keywords into a comprehensive keyword universe. We research competitor keyword portfolios, mine autocomplete and People Also Ask data, analyse search trends, and surface long-tail variations — typically identifying 500–2,000 candidate keywords per campaign.
Intent Mapping & Prioritisation
We classify every keyword by search intent, then score each one by Singapore search volume, keyword difficulty, current ranking position, and commercial value. The result is a prioritised master keyword list — segmented by content type (service pages, blog articles, FAQs, landing pages) and ranked by the highest return-on-effort opportunities.
Content Roadmap Delivery
We deliver a complete keyword strategy document: the full keyword list with metrics, keyword clusters mapped to pages, a content roadmap showing what to create or optimise and in what order, and an explanation of the reasoning behind every prioritisation decision. You leave with a clear, data-backed content plan ready to execute.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before getting started.
What is keyword research?
Keyword research is the process of identifying the specific words and phrases people type into Google when searching for products, services, or information relevant to your business. It forms the foundation of any SEO strategy — without it, you are guessing what your audience wants rather than building content and pages based on proven demand.
Why do I need Singapore-specific keyword data instead of global data?
Search behaviour varies significantly by market. Singaporeans use different terminology, different colloquialisms, and search at different volumes than global averages suggest. A keyword with high global volume may have negligible Singapore search traffic, and vice versa. We filter all research to Singapore data to ensure your strategy reflects the actual market you're targeting.
How many keywords should my website target?
There is no ideal number. A small service business might target 20–50 well-chosen keywords across its service pages and blog. An e-commerce site may target thousands. What matters is that each keyword has clear intent, realistic ranking potential, and a dedicated page optimised for it. We recommend depth over breadth — targeting fewer keywords well rather than many keywords poorly.
What is search intent and why does it matter?
Search intent is the underlying goal of the person typing a query into Google. The four types are informational (wanting to learn), navigational (looking for a specific site), commercial (comparing options before buying), and transactional (ready to purchase now). Google rewards pages that match the intent of the keyword — a product page optimised for an informational query will rarely rank, regardless of how technically perfect the SEO is.
What is keyword difficulty and how do you assess it?
Keyword difficulty (KD) is a score estimating how hard it is to rank for a given keyword based on the authority of the pages currently ranking for it. We use Ahrefs KD as a primary signal, but we also manually review the top 10 results — checking content quality, domain authority, and whether there are weak incumbents you could displace. KD alone can be misleading, and experienced judgment matters.
How often should I redo my keyword research?
We recommend a comprehensive keyword review every 6–12 months, and a lighter quarterly review to catch new opportunities and monitor rank movements. Search trends shift, new competitor content emerges, and your own business evolves. A keyword strategy built in 2022 may be significantly stale by 2025 — especially in fast-moving sectors like fintech, property, and e-commerce.
What tools do you use for keyword research?
Our primary tools are Ahrefs (for keyword data, competitor analysis, and gap analysis), SEMrush (for additional keyword intelligence and trend data), and Google Search Console (for real data on what your site already ranks for and what queries are driving impressions). We also use Google Keyword Planner, Google Autocomplete, and People Also Ask as supplementary research sources.
Can keyword research help with my Google Ads campaign?
Yes — the same keyword research that informs SEO is directly applicable to paid search. Understanding search intent helps you build better ad group structures, write more relevant ad copy, and identify negative keywords that waste budget. We can deliver a keyword strategy that serves both your SEO and Google Ads campaigns simultaneously.
How much does keyword research cost in Singapore?
A standalone keyword research project for a small-to-medium Singapore business typically starts from $400–$600 and includes a full keyword universe, intent classification, competitive gap analysis, and a prioritised content roadmap. For larger sites or more competitive industries, pricing scales accordingly. Keyword research is also included as part of our comprehensive SEO retainer packages.
What do I receive at the end of a keyword research project?
You receive a structured deliverable package: (1) a full keyword list with Singapore search volume, keyword difficulty, and search intent for every keyword; (2) a keyword cluster map showing how keywords group into content themes; (3) a page-level mapping showing which page on your site should target which cluster; and (4) a prioritised content roadmap with recommendations for what to create or optimise first, and why.
